There are two types of back braces that commonly used for someone with factrures or bone problem which by using these brace will limit the motion in the spine.
1. Rigid brace
Rigid brace usually made from plastics are little bit heavy and giving a
n hot effect and tend to be relatively make uncomfortable for patients who used it. They should be worn when the patient is up but may be removed when lying down . Rigid brace is well fitted it is able to limit approximately 50 % of the motion in the spine. For someone with problem fractures (or broken bones) can often be treated with a rigid brace and also suitable for someone who had a surgery.
2. Corset brace (Elastic Brace)
The corset brace is usually made from lightweight cloth which contain metals bars which may added or removed based on the specific
treatment in each patient. The metal bar is provide rigid reinforcements which able to improve and prevent movement of body posture. For those who has problem with low back pain, they suggested to use corset brace to treat and reduce the pain. And for someone who has job is related to heavy lifting is also important to limiting motion and acting by using a corset brace as proper protection for body posture when lifting.
Corset brace work by pressuring in the abdomen, thus reducing the amount of weight placed on sensitive spinal structures, such as vertebrae and joints. To develope an environment that allows the spine to heal faster is by gradually reducing the corset brace stress to the structure.
