The Characteristic of Kyphosis

Normally, people have a curve in their spines. We can see it from the side. The normal curve will places the head directly over pelvis. This function of this curve is to balance our bodies from a weight.

But, sometimes we find some people rather peculiar with their back bones. Some of them may have spine that form side to side or move too forward. If the spine forms too forward, we call it as kyphosis. In the other word, a person with kyphosis has a hump posture.

People with kyphosis like to have back pain and muscle fatigue in their spines. It is because they don’t move their body properly and constantly make the wrong position of spines. Beside that, they also feel stiffness in the back because the back doesn’t have various movement.

If kyphosis doesn’t get any treatment, it may become worse. A thing that we should worry is that the kyphosis will reduce the spaces in lungs so that makes possible to have heart attack or hard breathing.

Therefore, when someone gets kyphosis, he or she should consult to a doctor soon. Early diagnose will prevent the kyphosis getting worse. This diagnose will drive the patient to have some treatments. If the treatments are done regularly, the curve of spines in kyphosis will be reduced.

There are some treatments that usually done by the doctors. But, it is very dependable on how bad the kyphosis is. The most common treatment done for every level of kyphosis is wearing brace. The special Brace like Milwaukee Brace will aid to correct the curve to the normal curve. Then, the doctors will take surgery if needed. But, surgery doesn’t mean have no risk. The risk to have complication is estimated until 5%. There are some possible complication like deep inflammatory processes, breathing impairments, bleeding, and nerve injuries.
